Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She relocated to California in the age of five. She spent her childhood within Orange County. Her breakout moment came in the year 2015 when she graduated with degrees from University of California San Diego. Pernas, who had made minor appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage before landing the part in the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless as a well-known character on the soap opera. Following her departure from the soap-opera and landed the role as Catalina in Jane the Virgin.
